After weeks of competition from 154 teams, Waramadong Secondary, Region Seven Champions and Wismar-Christianburg are through to the final of the Digicel Nationwide Schools Football Competition.
In the semi-final matches yesterday Waramdong Secondary defeated Bygeval Secondary 12-1 at the Eve Leary ground while Wismar-Christianburg got the better of St Ignatius 4-3 at the Den Amstel Community Centre ground. Six goals from Waramadong’s Cirilo George, who scored in the 17th, 22nd, 36th, 38th, 58th and 71st minutes, led the way for the Region 7 champs while Mc Curd Kramer netted a hat trick in the 72nd, 83rd and 88th minutes.
The other goal scorers were Kenzy George (49th), Myles Albert (63rd) and Armon Fredericks’ 64th.
Samuel Charles scored a consolation goal for Bygeval in the 62nd minute.
Wismar-Christianburg won 4-3 with Yannick Simon scoring in the 46th and 68th minutes. Alan Halley, in the fourth minute and Travin Dryden in the 82nd minute were the other goal scorers.
St. Ignatius goal scorers were Franklyn Parks in the seventh minute, Kenroy Robinson in the 43rd and Michael Smith in the 80th.
They will now play Bygeval tomorrow for third place.
