Members of the Linden Chamber of Industry, Commerce and Development (LCICD) were today summoned to a meeting with President Donald Ramotar at the Office of the President.
According LCICD’s Nolan Walton, the chamber had requested an audience with the President prior to yesterday’s protest which resulted in the death of three Linden men and several others being injured.
Walton said that the head of state had indicated his willingness to meet the stakeholder body but no date was set. They were subsequently invited to the meeting today. He said that they discussed the issues at hand and the president indicated that he will be considering their recommendations.
