Guyana ‘s netball team on Tuesday picked up its fourth loss in the Americans Federation of Netball Associations (AFNA) tournament when it came up against another Caribbean powerhouse Barbados at the Jean Pierre Complex in the compound of the Hasley Crawford Stadium, Trinidad.

Guyana in that match went down 13-112 as they fought hard against the Bajans but it just was not enough. Guyana scored 13 goals after 17 attempts while Barbados scored 112 goals  from  126 attempts.

Action in the game against Barbados on Tuesday.

Yesterday the team was down to face the United States of America, who have been playing fairly well against some of the smaller teams in the competition like Bermuda and Grenada whom they have defeated.

They are still to play Canada who fought tooth and nail on Tuesday against the mighty Jamaicans  with the game ending  79-19 in favour of Jamaica.

It should be noted  that  Canada’s players have the height to match with the Jamaicans but they lacked the aggression and the speed which is what the Jamaica capitalized on.

Guyana will face Canada  tomorrow. Today is a rest day.

At the moment the tournament looks like a three horse race among  Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago  and Barbados with Jamaica being the favourites to walk away with the championships.
