Digicel yesterday launched its summer promotion, ‘Digicel Got Real Value!’ in the Savannah Suite, Pegasus.
Digicel’s Head of Marketing Jacqueline James announced that the promotion would be in the form of a game show, called ‘3 Minutes to Win It.’
She explained that to enter the game, participants must first top up their Digicel mobile phones with $400 or more, and then collect the words ‘Digicel Got Real Value’. Once all four words were received, participants can win $100,000, plus entry into one of two televised game shows, where they could be one of the lucky winners of “millions of dollars.”
A preview game show, hosted by Sherry Ann Dyal, was staged to enlighten the audience of how the game is played and the game’s setting was revealed for the first time.
The game’s inaugural round saw players like cyclist Alonso Greaves and Miss India Worldwide Alana Seebaran among others, who won $75,000 each, which would be donated to charities around Guyana, including the Hararuni Girls Home, St John’s Bosco Orphanage and the Red Cross Convalescent Home.
The game has four levels. The first challenge, called ‘Hanky Panky’, requires players to pull 160 tissues, one at a time, out of a box using only one hand.
The second level, called ‘This Blows’, requires the player to knock over 15 cups using air from an inflated balloon. The third level is called ‘Separation Anxiety’ and calls for the player to separate a packet of M&Ms according to colours and place them in individual cups. The last challenge, the most difficult of all, is the apple stacking round, which requires the player to stack apples on top of each other. All of the levels must be completed within 60 seconds.
