The Minister of Labour has signed an Order amending the minimum wage of various categories of printing trade workers by amending the Printing Trade Workers Wage Council Regulations Order and this amendment comes into effect on June 1, 2012.
According to the new wage order, monotype keyboard operators will get a minimum wage of $12,300 per week, monotype caster operator will receive $8,800 per week, linotype operators, $15,300 per week; letter press operators, $13,700; offset pressmen $13,200; wrappers, packers and checkers $7,700; janitors $7,400 per week; proofreaders, compositors, engravers and litho plate makers $11,900 per week; camera operators $13,400; newspaper press attendant $11,900 per week; stereotypes $10,200; rubber stamp makers $9,800; binders $10,900; rulers $10,500, Ludlow operators $9,800; guillotine operators $10,500; elrod operators, metal moulders and manglers $7,800; and printer assistants $6,600 per week.
These minimum wage increases came together with several others in various categories of workers in several different industries.
