Music of the World Super Concert 2, featuring Indian playback singer Kumar Sanu and Indian soap actors Karan and Abha, slated for tonight at the National Stadium is expected to be an explosion of talent from across the world.
The concert is the second of its kind and is promoted by Firefest Productions, which is manned by local artiste Mahendra Ramkellawan. The concert also features in the lineup Anil Singh from Canada, Devindra Puran from the United States, KI Persad and his band JMC3Veni from Trinidad, Avinash Maharaj and the Guyatones Band, Neval Chatelal and Nadia Madhoo.
At a press conference held at the Princess Hotel yesterday, Ramkellawan said the experience is going to be “superb like never before,” since the stadium has already been transformed to suit the atmosphere.
Karan and Abha, who arrived in Guyana yesterday morning, said they are surprised by the reaction of the people and the appreciation they have received so far.
Karan said they have lots in store for the audience and they are really looking forward to a packed stadium since they “are more excited to see the people.”
The on-screen couple will be performing two Bollywood acts, along with a surprise act, which may include persons from the audience.
The concert kicks off at 8 pm sharp and admission is $4,000 at the gate; tickets are $2,500 in advance.
Up to the time of the press conference, artistes on the bill were still arriving and Sanu and his troupe along with Madhoo, Chatelal and Maharaj are expected to arrive at 1 am today.
