With the third annual Hugh Ross Classic just days away and with the arrival of the World renowned bodybuilder in Guyana the event is picking up momentum and promising to be well —- a Classic.
On Thursday the event got insurance coverage in the support of insurance giants Hand-in-Hand Group of Companies when Senior Supervisor of Hand-in-Hand William Warde, handed over a cheque to Ross.
According to Warde, who is also a bodybuilder, his company has long supported sports in Guyana, adding that the sponsorship was just a continuation of that tradition.
Champion bodybuilder Ross promised that the event should be exciting as a number of young bodybuilders will be on show including females who will compete for the Miss Figure Crown.
Today, those who promote a healthy lifestyle will participate in the Fitness Walk which starts at 6am at the National Park.
Participants will proceed east along Thomas Lands, North into JB Singh Highway, West into Carifesta Avenue, South into Camp Street, East into Lamaha Street and north into Albert Street with the walk ending outside the National Park.
Participants will receive a free T-shirt, compliments of Banks DIH Limited which will also provide liquid refreshments.
Meanwhile, the organizers held a small reception Friday Night at OMG on Sherriff Street, Campbellville.
