(Trinidad Guardian) Former prime minister Patrick Manning says he is recuperating well in Washington after suffering a mild stroke on January 24 at his home in San Fernando. A posting on Manning’s his Facebook wall at the weekend said: “Just wanted to let everyone know that I am doing fine and I continue applying myself towards a full recovery in the shortest possible time.”
Sources say Manning is in contact with relatives and members of his San Fernando East constituency, via Skype, regularly. Manning had been given extended leave from Parliament but sources say he is expected to return to the country shortly.
