Several persons were injured yesterday when a minibus and a motorcar collided at D’Urban and Smyth streets, Georgetown.
The minibus, licence number BLL 5601, was travelling east along D’Urban Street while the car, PJJ 6814, was turning from Smyth Street onto D’Urban Street when the accident occurred. Both vehicles, according to eyewitnesses were speeding.
The minibus flipped on its side while the front of the car was completely smashed in.
The fire service responded quickly and firefighters managed to pull commuters from the bus.
They were then rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital. Among the injured was a pregnant woman.
An ambulance attached to the GPH appeared several minutes later at which time all the injured persons had left the scene.
