The Hugh Ross Classic Committee yesterday staged a successful Fitness Walk around the outer circuit of the National Park.
The event which coincides with the third biennial Hugh Ross Classic (HRC) Bodybuilding and Fitness Show which will be held on Saturday at the National Cultural Centre attracted an excess of 100 participants.
The walk commenced at the National Park and moved East up Thomas Lands, North into J.B Singh Highway, West into Carifesta Avenue, South into Camp Street, East into Lamaha Street , North into Albert Street to end at the starting point.
Leading the participants on the route was Guyana’s premier bodybuilder, former Mr. Olympia Master’s Champion and chairman of the HRC, Hugh Ross.
In an invited comment Ross, the reigning NABBA World Championship Master’s Over-50 champion said he was pleased with the turn out. He also mentioned that there is no substitute for good health and exercising on Sunday mornings is one of the best ways to start one’s week.
Staff members of Banks DIH Limited and Total Fitness Gym of Grove East Bank Demerara were part of the walk which saw the participants receiving warm down instructions by Curtis McKenzie of Curtis Workout when the event concluded.
Water, Malta Supreme beverages and jerseys were also available compliments of the Fitness Walk’s exclusive sponsor Banks DIH Limited.
Ross also thanked all the participants, Banks DIH, the Drum Corps of the Guyana Defence Force which kept the participants in rhythm and the National Park for their contributions towards the successful event.
Admission for the show which will commence at 19:00hrs, cost $2500, $2000 and $1000.
