First basketball, now track and field. The Linden saga continues to affect sporting activities in Guyana. This time around it has resulted in the postponement of the annual week of sports of the Guyana Defence Force which was schedule to commence today at Camp Ayanganna.
GDF athletics coach Robert Chisolmsaid yesterday that the meet was postponed because the army is currently conducting exercises in Linden in the face of protest activity in the area which has so far resulted in the deaths of three persons.
Already, the National Community Basketball (NCBL) League has been put on hold because teams cannot get around in Linden to practice or even leave some areas.
