Cabinet gave the go-ahead to four contracts valued $176.4M for the rehabilitation and maintenance of the Linden-Lethem road, and three others, at its July 31 statutory meeting.
HPS and Cabinet Secretary Dr Roger Luncheon made this announcement at his post-Cabinet media briefing on Thursday, a Government Information Agency (GINA) press release said. The major contract in the public works sector for the renovations are divided into three lots, the first valued at $40M; the second, $50.3M and third $86.1M. A $25.2M contract was also green-lighted for the renovation of the upper storey of the Transport and Harbours Department building.
Two contracts were given the go-ahead in the Housing and Water sector for the rehabilitation of mains and distribution networks in Linden, Region 10. They are Lot 1, $157M and Lot 2, $319M. A $49.9M contract was also okayed for the procurement of a floating mobile police outpost for the E&F Division in the security sector, GINA said.
