The PNCR on the morning of July 30 elected members to its Central Executive Committee when the party held its 17th Biennial Congress and former party leader Robert Corbin and city mayor Hamilton Green are among those who have been elected.
Those elected were Corbin, Amna Ally, Lurlene Nestor, James A. Bond, Joe Harmon, Oscar Clarke, Andrew Winston Felix, Jevaughn Stephen, Green, Joe Harmon, Cammie Ramsaroop, Beni Rayman, Morris Wilson, Mortimer Mingo, Cheryl Samson and Christopher Jones.
Regional and other representatives are Dharul Khan of Region 2, Mark Walkes of Region 3, Maureen Philadelphia of Region 4, Jennifer Wade of Region 5, Kerwin Crawford of Region 6, George Moore of Region 7, William Toney of Region 9 and Lawrence London of the North American Region, Genevieve Allen of the National Council of Women (NCW), Adel Lilly of the Guyana Youth and Student Movement (GYSM) and Malika Ramsey of GYSM. Those co-opted to the Central Executive Committee so far include Carl Greenidge, Clement Corlette and former police commissioner, now PNCR MP, Winston Gordon Felix.
David Granger was elected Leader of the party, while Basil Williams was elected Chairman. Stabroek News understands that because of the late hour that the voting took place for the members for the CEC, around 120 persons voted out of a delegate count of over 800.
