Top stars are expected for Jamzone’s three super concerts, with the international night taking a new twist and honouring Jamaican dancehall artiste Bounty Killer, local cricket legend Clive Lloyd, Chutney icon Terry Gajraj and Yoruba Singers frontman Eze Rockcliffe.
According to a press release from Jamzone promoter Hits and Jams, the Chutney Super Concert is up first, billed for August 18, with a whopping twelve performers to set the stage on fire!
The line up includes top artistes in the Chutney genre like Karma Band, De Hunter, Terry Gajraj, Soca Elvis, Anil B and the Beamers, De Hitman, Rakesh Yankaran, Rick Ramotar, Sally Sogram, Kenrock and Vanessa Ramotar.
The second concert is billed as the Regional Super Concert and is set for August 24, the release said.
Jamaicans will dominate the stage and fans can expect thrilling performances from the likes of ‘Five Star General’ Bounty Killer, Konshens, Baby Cham and Mavado.
The release also announced that Hip Hop Boss Rick ‘Rozay’ Ross will headline the International Night set for August 25. Rick Ross was previously set to perform at Hits and Jams’ Easter Fest earlier this year, but was a no-show.
Jamaicans will also open the show for Ross. Expected are Elephant Man, Macka Diamond and Spice.
All these artistes are known for hyped, entertaining, crowd-pleasing performances; all of which will be held at the Guyana National Stadium, Providence .
Meanwhile, Bounty Killer, Clive Lloyd, Terry Gajraj and Eze Rockcliffe will be honoured for their contributions in their individual fields at the International Night.
According to the release, HJ Entertainment Director Kerwin Bollers said, “Entertainment is a major business in Guyana and many people including my team have enjoyed and benefited considerably from it. This year, we want to start a trend of giving back to these people who have contributed greatly towards entertainment and our ultimate amusement.” He added that in addition to offering an extensive roster of activities to the public, Jamzone’s 12th anniversary will be observed by honouring those who have made significant contributions to the field entertainment.
