An unidentified man is feared drowned after the wooden boat he was travelling in last Friday night collided with a speedboat.
Police said in press release yesterday that about 19:20 hours, a speedboat plying the Bartica-Parika route collided with a small wooden boat operated by Dyardard Sukhdeo which had two male passengers on board.
As a result of the collision the three men fell overboard. One of them has not been seen since and is feared drowned, the release said, adding that Sukhdeo sustained injuries and has been admitted as a patient of the Georgetown Public Hospital Cooperation (GPHC).
The captain of the speedboat has been arrested and is in police custody assisting with the investigations.
