Dear Editor,
I am in danger of becoming the Stabroek News obituary correspondent.
I was very saddened to read of the death of another long time Guyanese friend, former Police Commissioner Laurie Lewis. He was a good man. Whenever I came to Guyana when he was in office, he would always make time for me to tell me, “Bill, you are very welcome in your country and I will make sure nobody harms you.“
Out of office, he was an equal brick.
Guyana will miss Laurie.
The Greybeards are dropping. Sadly.
Yours faithfully,
John ‘Bill Cotton/Reform’ Mair
