Junior star rider Raynauth Jeffrey will spearhead a team of youth riders to represent Guyana at this year’s Caribbean Youth Road Racing Championship which will be held in the Dominican Republic on August 25 and 26.
According to a release from the Guyana Cycling Federation (GCF), the team which was selected is a formidable one in both the junior and juvenile categories.
Jeffrey along with fellow junior standout Paul DeNobrega won gold medals at last year’s Inter-Guiana Games in Suriname and are both expected to attain podium places because of their impressive inform riding at present.
Juveniles Raul Leal and Michael Anthony are also expected to finish on the podium.
The full team is as follows:
Juniors: DeNobrega, Jeffrey and Mario King.
Juveniles: Leal, Anthony and Akeem Arthur. The lone female will be Berbician Marica Dick.
The team which is scheduled to wing out on August 23 will be managed by William Howard, while Wayne DeAbreu will be tasked with the coaching duties.
