The second edition of the Mackeson 3-on-3 Smooth Moves basketball competition has been postponed until further notice, but the organizers have not yet disclosed any reason.
The unorthodox format of basketball, a new concept in its own right formed out of street basketball and pick up games, was first introduced on a countrywide basis by ANSA McAL last year via the Mackeson brand.
The tournament received a positive response with its winner take all $1,000,000 prize and become a calendar event marked by basketball players and fans in Guyana.
However, due to undisclosed reasons that the organizers were unwilling to mention, the tournament has been postponed.
Meanwhile the organizers issued a press release stating that they are committed to the tournament and will contact all teams that are already signed up once the event is ready to start, even as they are looking to make the event bigger and better.
