The Guyana Defence Force (GDF) last evening received their first place reward for finishing atop the pecking order of the Georgetown Football Association (GFA) President’s Beer Super League at Banks DIH, Thirst Park.
The GDF men were superb throughout the league topping the likes of Camptown Football Club and Santos Football Club in the GFA organized tournament.
Santos FC finished as runners-up of the league while Camptown FC and Rhythm Squad ended third and fourth respectively.
Banks DIH Engineering Director Gavin Todd, at the presentation ceremony last evening, thanked the players and encouraged them to continue striving for success.
He also vowed Banks DIH’s continued support in sports and football.
The Guyana Police Force was crowned the most improved team while GDF’s Delong Young was awarded the title of best goalkeeper.
Denver Sam of the GDF camp was named Most Valuable Player (MVP) and he also copped the most goals award.
GFA’s representative Kwabena Griffith expressed gratitude to the players for the high quality of play while thanking Banks DIH for the support and hopeful, their continued support for the tournament.
