Savita Haynes of Brusche Dam Vigilance, East Coast Demerara has been missing for approximately three weeks and her family is pleading with anyone with information about her whereabouts to come forward and inform them.
The 15-year-old went missing on July 31 after she left her mother’s food stall at Bourda Market to go to her brothers’ stall a few stalls away. She was last seen around 3.30 pm wearing an orange coloured top and a pair of black jeans.
Her mother, Nikita Haynes, told Stabroek News that her daughter had never left home before without informing the family and she is fearful that something untoward may have happened to her. “She never left without telling we and I just want she come back… if she get a boyfriend and frighten to come home me just want to tell she let she come home and nah frighten,” the woman said.
According to the elder Haynes she reported her daughter as missing to the Vigilance Police Station but was told to “look around for her.” She added that the family has been constantly searching for the girl but all their efforts have proved futile.
Haynes stated that she made several other trips to the police station but was told to continue looking for her daughter. “Not one day them police get up from the station and go look for my daughter,” the woman said.
“I just want say if anybody know where she deh or them see she just call me and me number is 670-0346 or 671-6779,” she said amidst tears.
