Rohanie Ramsood, the Cane Grove, Mahaica resident who set herself on fire on Thursday, is said to be recovering well at the Georgetown Public Hospital.
Speaking with this newspaper yesterday, a relative said that her condition is steadily improving but she remains a patient of the burn unit at the GPH. They noted that she is speaking.
Ramsood, who is 40 years old, allegedly set herself on fire after an argument with her husband. According to reports, she was in the upper flat of her home when her husband noticed smoke emanating from that section of their home.
Her husband then ran upstairs and discovered his wife engulfed in flames and immediately threw water on her as she cried out for assistance. He immediately rushed the woman to the Georgetown Hospital.
