Aaron Shaw, accused of breaking and entering the home of man, was yesterday remanded to prison.
Shaw, of Independence Boulevard, Albouystown, denied the break-and-enter larceny charge but was denied bail by Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
It was alleged that on August 27, in the Georgetown district, Shaw broke and entered the home of Heralall Bodhoo, and stole a quantity of personal items, including slippers, an amplifier and a digital camera, valued at $423,000. No evidence was provided to the court about the theft.
Although the prosecution had no objections to bail, when Magistrate Octive-Hamilton asked the accused if he wanted to go on bail, he said, “I have no one to bail me out”.
The Magistrate subsequently remanded Shaw and transferred the case to the Providence Magistrate’s Court for October 12.
