A week after she set herself on fire, Rohanie Ramsood succumbed to her burns at the Georgetown Hospital, her relatives said yesterday.
Ramsood, of Cane Grove, Mahaica set herself on fire last Thursday. She died yesterday morning around 3am, said officials at the hospital.
Ramsood, 40, allegedly set herself on fire after an argument with her husband. According to reports, she was in the upper flat of her home when her husband noticed smoke emanating from that section of their house.
He ran upstairs and discovered his wife engulfed in flames and threw several buckets of water on her as she cried out for help. She was rushed to the Georgetown Hospital, where she was being treated for her injuries.
