Fifteen youths from the Plaisance area, East Coast Demerara, will be attending a five-day ‘An Introduction to Pan’ workshop, commencing today and continuing until September 3.
The workshop will be conducted by well-known pan playerColgrain Whyte and the sessions will start at 16:00hrs, a press release from Guyenterprise said.
The steel pan sessions follow the highly successful workshop on ‘Playing the Recorder’, which the Tina Insanally Foundation (TIF) arranged, in collaboration with the St. John Bosco Orphange.
Meanwhile, tomorrow, music tutor Derry Etkins along with Minister of Culture, Dr Frank Anthony will hand out certificates to the large group of young people who enjoyed their introduction to music over the past week at the TIF Band room, Plaisance, the release added.
