The Leo club of Ruimveldt recently served the community by donating school supplies for seven children in the Ruimveldt area.
The presentation was done at the Ruimveldt Lions den, completing the Leo club service project to benefit the community by providing the beneficiaries with the basic tools for a proper education, the club said in a press release. According to Juanita Harris, President of the Leo club, “This and other projects will allow Leos to meet pressing needs in our community. This project is also in keeping with Lions International Global Service Action Campaign for August which is engaging the youth.”
Meanwhile, Leo members thanked everyone who contributed to this important work, especially the management of Giftland OfficeMax, Terrence Dowding and Sean Noel of the Lions club of Ruimveldt.
The Ruimveldt Leo club has twelve active members and meets every Friday at 7:00pm at the Ruimveldt Lions den, except on national holidays.
Lion Mickey Anderson is currently the Leo club advisor.
Young people ages 12-30 who would like to know more about the Ruimveldt Leo club can contact any of the members by addressing queries to ruimveldt_leo@yahoo.com, the release added.
