Barbadian Urlet Bullock is the new individual Caribbean scrabble champion following the conclusion of the individual competition on Sunday at the Bank of Guyana building.
Bullock, after winning all eight of his matches, finished with a positive spread of 1081 after defeating defending champion Fred Collins, James Krakowsky, Anthony Modeste, Leon Belony, Patricia John, Elvis King, Leslie Charles and Kurt Ross.
Bullock’s win is being interpreted as a revenge on all fronts, in the Barbados/Guyana team matchup, Bullock lost to former champion Collins and went on to lose all his matches against Trinidad the following day.
Bullock, though was still the favourite to win the individual championship and he did deliver.
Second was Trinidadian Leslie Charles with a spread of 607 followed by Guyanese Fred Collins on 231. Both players ended on five and a half points after five wins and one draw.
The Caribbean Championship ended with Trinidad retaining the Caribbean Championship team tile while Barbados took home the individual title.
