Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton yesterday remanded two persons on a joint charge of narcotics possession for the purpose of trafficking.
Michael and Bonnie Boodhoo both denied the charges that they had in their possession 305 grammes of cannabis when they appeared in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
It is alleged that on Sunday, the two had in their possession 305 grammes of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking. Facts of what occurred on the day in question were not related to the court.
Counsel for the defendants Paul Fung-A-Fat did not make an application to the court for bail but he requested an early court date for his clients’ next appearance.
The prosecution asked that both defendants be remanded and the magistrate granted that request. The duo is scheduled to appear in Court One of the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court on October 1 for report and fixture.
