Weather forecasters say yet another tropical depression has formed over the Atlantic Ocean, but it’s still hundreds of miles away from land, the Associated Press reported today.
The US National Hurricane Centre in Miami said today that the depression was still nearly 1,200 miles (1930 kilometres) east of the Windward Islands. It had maximum sustained winds of 35 mph (56 kph) and was moving west at 20 mph (32 kph).
It’s expected to strengthen into Tropical Storm Leslie later in the day, once its winds reach at least 39 mph (63 kph).
