A man accused of robbing a woman of her gold band and using violence at the time was yesterday admitted to bail in the sum of $80,000 when he appeared before Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton.
The allegation against Khem John Beckles is that on Monday at Georgetown, he robbed Gaitree Ramdehol of one gold band, and at the time of or immediately before the said robbery he used personal violence to the said Gaitree Ramdehol.
Beckles, 36, of 128 ‘C’ Field Sophia was not required to plead to the indictable charge of robbery with violence when it was read to him at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
The accused, a painter, was unrepresented by counsel but he requested reasonable bail.
Beckles was then placed on $80,000 bail.
His matter will be called again on October 4 at Court One of the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court for report and fixture.
