The police say they are investigating a fatal accident that occurred at about 1820h last evening on the Adelphi Village Public Road, East Canje, Berbice, and which resulted in the death of pedestrian Sewdat Bipoo, 35 years, of Adelphi.
Police say that investigations so far have revealed that Doodnauth Hardial, 23 years, of Gangaram Settlement, East Canje, was driving his motorcycle along the roadway when it is alleged that Bipoo attempted to cross the road and was struck down.
Both men were taken to the New Amsterdam Hospital where Bipoo was pronounced DOA, while Hardial was admitted for medical treatment, police said.
