Transport Sports Club seemed more hung over than their Under 15 side who lost to DCC in the final of the Under 15 competition on Friday when they came up against the much stronger Demerara Cricket Club’s first division side in Queenstown.
DCC won the toss and sent Transport in to bat and quickly bundled them out for 77.
DCC needed just about one session to score 7 for 353 declared. Andrew Lyght jr., was his usual aggressive self as he fell one run short of a century, scoring 99 with seven fours 10 sixes while West Indies T20 player Derwin Christian hit a pugnacious 119 with just four fours and a whopping 13 sixes.
DCC’s middle order all had starts as Andrew Gibson made 33 and Coen Ismond 25 while Paul Wintz and Kemol Savory enjoyed a 48-run unbroken eighth-wicket partnership. The innings lasted just 50.2 overs.
Bowling for Transport Kevin Ross had figures of 14-1-101-3, and Oslyn Batson 17-0-105-3.
Transport, batting a second time, ended the day on 4 for 46. Christopher Barnwell has taken a five wicket haul and has six wickets so far in the game.
Left arm fast bowler Andre Stoll struck with his first delivery, and again with the fifth ball of the first over as Charwayne McPherson edged and was well taken in the slip cordon. Transport require another 230 runs to make DCC bat again, and thus enter the last day in a precarious position as DCC will look to finish the match early.
