The Guyana Oil Company awarded bursaries and gifts to seven of its employees’ children who just completed the National Grade Six Assessment. In a press release the company said it presented the prizes to the children at its annual exercise held in its boardroom on August 6. Human Resources Manager Jean Cumberbatch, urged the students to take their studies seriously and remain focused on achieving academic goals. She also advised the parents to ensure that their children attend every class and school punctually and regularly and advised them to examine their children’s books as often as possible. This year’s beneficiaries are Reia Devi Seepersaud, Shania Williams, Molleya Roberts, Ashley Forde, Mayon Halley, Nekella DeFreitas and Shonikka Reets.
