Rambarran said that the equipment is a demonstration of support from the IVF and the Guyana Volleyball Federation to provide primary school children ages nine to 13 with opportunities to enjoy the sport, learn new skills, acquire habits of self-discipline, learn to co-operate, make new friends, compete fairly and have fun in a motivating atmosphere.

Rambarran also said he was motivated to donate the gear on noticing two volleyball posts planted in the school’s playfield. He said the items are only to be used by the students to play mini-volley ball.

In accepting the gift Persaud promised to put it to good use. She also revealed plans to have a hard court constructed in the schools’ compound which also houses a nursery section and the Black Bush Secondary School. On e hundred and ninety-five students are enrolled at the primary school.
