Guyana condemns attack on US Embassies in Libya, Egypt

The Guyana Government, through its Foreign Ministry, has strongly condemned the attack on the US Embassy in Benghazi, Libya, which resulted in the death of Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three others, as well as the attack on the US Embassy in Cairo, Egypt.

A press release from Takuba Lodge said the government urged that protests should be peaceful and that there be restraint and tolerance on the part of those exercising their right to protest.

The government conveyed sympathy to the bereaved families of the deceased and to the government and people of the United States of America for the loss of lives, injuries and damage to property caused by the tragic incident.
