The inner circuit of the National Park will be transformed into a speedway today when National Cycling Coach Hassan Mohamed and Desinco Trading, through its Degree line of deodorants, team up to host an 11-race programme.
The event which is in its 12th year will pedal off at 09:00 and is scheduled to attract the country’s best riders competing for top honours.
The gruelling 35-lap Invitational race is the feature event with Lindener Mark Lewis set to defend his title. Lewis won last year’s event in a time of one hour, 17 minutes and 54 seconds seconds, leaving fellow Lindener Orville Hinds, Raymond Newton, Rastaff O’Selmo, Michael Anthony and Junior Niles to follow in that order.
Other winners at last year’s race were Silvio Inniss, Raymond Newton, Kirkwood Kellman, Maurice Fagundes, Kester Croal, Michael Anthony, Jamal Arthur, Adrian Sharma and Hamza Eastman.
Representatives of Desinco Trading are expected to assist in the presentation of prizes at the conclusion of today’s event.
