(Trinidad Guardian) Members of the Organised Crime Narcotics and Firearms Bureau (OCNFB) on Friday handed over Andy Nelson to British police officers at the Piarco International Airport. Nelson is wanted in the UK for his involvement in conspiracy to traffic cocaine in London, England. He appeared before Port-of-Spain Magistrate Marcia Ayres Caesar in the Fourth Court. During his first appearance in court 23 days ago, Nelson contested his extradition.
However, on Friday he consented to the extradition request. Nelson was arrested on a provisional warrant by members of the OCNFB in March of this year. Sources said he boarded BA flight 2158, at 5.30pm. The extradition warrant was signed by the office of the Attorney General 26 days ago.
