The touring Prasad Cricket Club will leave the shores of Guyana without a victory after Everest Cricket Club defeated them by six wickets on Saturday in what was more of an exhibition game, which saw several former national players donning whites to compete against the Trinidad team.
Playing at the Everest Cricket Ground, Prasad CC batted first and made 156 -9 from 30 overs on a day blessed with good sunshine. A. Ragoo was their chief scorer with 51 which contained four fours while R. Pooran supported with 23 and M. Alexander 19. Former national player and Coach Rabindranauth Seeram took two wickets for 22 runs with the ball while J. Azeez also took two wickets for 14 runs and R. Jaysingh 2 for 26.
Although Sheik Mohamed and Rohan Sarjooo fell cheaply, once again Shivnarine Chanderpaul showed his class, this time easing his way to 73 with four fours and one six in the Everest CC run chase.
Everest used just 24.2 overs to reach the target. Troy Gonsalves ended on 25 not out while Seeram made 20. Chanderpaul had scored a century in the first game against the Prasad team, which is from Central Trinidad.
