Dear Editor,
Government is spending millions every year on the Bartica-Potaro road. The IMC-NDC could help save those millions of the government provided a grader, a roller and an excavator. This would help maintain the roads from One Mile Bartica to Sherima.
In addition, our beaches are going flat. If we could acquire a large pontoon and excavator we could dig the sand from the sandbanks and put it alongside the sea defences. This would beautify Bartica, prevent erosion and remake our beaches. The properties and road alongside the river will be saved from being undermined. This happens periodically, especially in First Avenue. A dredge cannot do the job, because in First Avenue the sandbanks are too far away.
Bartica is one of the fastest developing communities in the country, and we humbly ask the Minister of Transport to visit us so we can show him the possibilities. We are grateful to the government for all they are doing to try and help Bartica to be a town soon.
Yours faithfully,
Winston B Miller Snr
