The Environmental Community Health Organisation (ECHO) is pleased with the eco-friendly approach in local fisheries, deeming it a timely and vital move to the sustainable development of fisheries and the environment, a press release said.
This would see greater protection and the sustainable development of the industry, the organization said.
It said such initiatives would lead to greater environmental awareness and good environmental stewardship.
Over the years, ECHO has been talking about the “tragedy of the common” and the depletion of the earth’s resources.
