A 60-year-old man was shot to his shoulder by bandits this morning as he was about to enter his Mandela Avenue premises.
Owen Jerriho has been admitted to the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH) with a gunshot wound to his shoulder.
According to police, around 10 am, Jerriho was confronted by two men and a scuffle ensued during which one of the men pulled out a handgun and shot him. The men made their escape on a motorcycle.
When Stabroek News visited the GPH, hospital officials relayed Jerriho’s refusal to speak to the media.
