Her petition was presented by Attorney Gem Sanford Johnson and accepted by Justice Brassington Reynolds. Haynes, who has worked at the Deeds Registry for over 23 years and was also a Sworn Clerk and Notary Public, had her admission in the presence of legal luminaries such as Prof Aubrey Bishop , former Attorney General Charles R Ramson SC, former judge Prem Persaud, and senior member of the bar Jailall Kissoon, who made some remarks along with President of the Guyana Women’s Lawyers Association Emily Dodson and attorney Kashir Khan. Kissoon said he knew of Haynes’s struggles and recognized the institutional memory she possesses, which is a valuable asset to the Deeds Registry.
