Jonathan Foo and Devendra Bishoo struck centuries to power Albion Cricket Club to a 218-run win over Police in the Berbice Cricket Board, Ramcharitar Construction Services limited overs competition on Saturday.
Foo struck 135, the highest score of the competition so far and Bishoo106 to help Albion CC post a daunting 292-6 off 45 overs.
The Guyana 20/20 batting star slammed 10 fours and 3 sixes and he received support from an unlikely source in the former West Indies leg-spinner Bishoo, who in his new role as a number five batsman for his team hit 106.
Bishoo’s innings included nine fours and was his highest score at any level.
When Police replied Bishoo in his more accustomed role as leg spinner picked up three wiockets for 16 runs while Guyana Under-19 left arm spinner Gudakesh Motie also picked up 3- 16 as Police was routed for a paltry 74.
In another fixture of the competition, Rose Hall Town Gizmos & Gadgets defeated Blairmont Community Centre by 77 runs.
Rose Hall Town Gizmos and gadgets were struggling at 103 for 5 at one stage with test batsman Assad Fudadin, Berbice cricketer Delbert Hicks, Rajiv Ivan and Renwick Batson as well as Khemraj Mahadeo all back in the pavilion.
However, Jason Sinclair with an unbeaten 73 which included six fours, put on 53 for the sixth wicket with Eon Hooper and 25 for the seventh wicket with Clinton Pestano to steer them to a decent 236 for 7 in their allotted 50 overs.
Blairmont, in reply could only muster 159 all out.
