Six employees of the Patsan Trading Company, who were allegedly caught on tape stealing over $15 million in goods, were yesterday arraigned on break and enter larceny charges.
Appearing before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry were Driver/Salesman Jermaine Tulloch, 39, of Lusignan; Driver/Salesman Cecil Persaud, 30; Salesman/Porter Marlon Bachoo, 22, of Lusignan; Driver/Salesman Hosea Rodney, 24, of Blue Sackie Drive, South Ruimveldt; Salesman/Porter Cordell Minoo, 19, and Porter Romano Persaud, 24, of Campbell Avenue, Campbellville.
They were not required to plead to the indictable charge and were granted $500,000 bail each.
According to police prosecutor Gordon Mansfield, between August 28 and September 21, the Chief Executive Officer of Patsan Trading received certain information and, on checking the surveillance camera footage, discovered that the workers had been taking goods over a period of time.
As a result, he contacted the police and the workers were arrested.
Mansfield had no objections to bail but asked that the accused lodge their passports with the police.
The case has been adjourned until November 1, when it will be called for statements in Court One.
