Alwin Glasgow, the security guard found dead at a construction site at Garden of Eden, East Bank Demerara, last Thursday, was strangled to death.
This is according to an autopsy performed on Glasgow’s body, his aunt Marjorie Phoenix said yesterday, noting that the cause of death was given as manual strangulation.
Glasgow, 44, of Relief, East Bank Demerara, was found dead with his hands tied at the construction site, which is opposite the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) farm at Garden of Eden.
Glasgow was found after a farmer, with whom he would talk every morning, did not see him as normal. The farmer then went to the shed at the side of the building where Glasgow would normally be positioned only to find him lying in a pool of blood.
A container at the site, which is owned by Chinese nationals, was broken into and all of its contents removed.
Glasgow will be laid to rest today.
