A fisherman was stabbed to death this morning at his Block 8 Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara home and his common-law wife has been held by police as the person responsible.
Dead is Sam Lall, 23, who sustained one stab wound to the left side of chest. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Georgetown Hospital, his relatives stated.
Lall had been taken to the hospital by his wife, who was held after he was confirmed dead.
He was stabbed by his wife after an argument between them, his family said. His relatives told this newspaper that he was frequently abused by her, but he never reported the situation to authorities.
