Tim Eversley, 65, was yesterday fined $30,000 after he admitted that he punched his landlord in a dispute over rent.
Eversley pleaded guilty to unlawfully and maliciously wounding Keith Lynch, so as to cause him actual bodily harm. Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry imposed the fine with an alternative of two weeks imprisonment.
Prosecutor Kerry Bostwick explained that on September 28, Eversley, who was renting the bottom flat of Lynch’s home, had a misunderstanding with his landlord concerning the rent for the month. As a result, Bostwick said, Eversley punched Lynch in the nose, causing visible injuries.
Lynch then made a report to the nearest police station and Eversley was subsequently arrested and charged.
