A combined Georgetown Secondary School cricket team yesterday defeated the touring Sunrise Cricket Club of New York, USA in a specially arranged 10/10 match at the Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) ground, Bourda.
The Sunrise Cricket Club got off to a fine start after winning the toss and deciding to take first strike. They eventually ended 69-7 while the combined school team reached the required target of 70 in only seven overs.
National Under-19 cricketer Tagenarine Chanderpaul was named man of the match.
Sunrise CC had earlier defeated a team from Sterling Products Limited
Making 165/8 and restricting Sterling Products Limited to 141/6 in their allotted 20 overs.
