The Associated Press today said that a Guyanese has been arrested on the Dutch Caribbean territory of St Maarten in connection with the murders of a US couple last month.
The South Carolina couple was found stabbed to death in their St. Maarten beachfront apartment.
AP reported Public Prosecutor Hans Mos as saying that the 20-year-old suspect had flown out of the Dutch Caribbean territory this week to the U.S. Virgin Islands. He said the suspect was extradited to St. Maarten with the help of U.S. authorities.
The suspect, identified only by his initials, J.J.W. is expected to appear in court Monday, AP said.
Authorities previously detained a Jamaican security guard and a 17-year-old in the slaying of Michael and Thelma King of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.
