Dwain Blair, a miner accused of robbing a man of his iPhone, was yesterday placed on $125,000 bail after he denied the charge of armed robbery.
It is alleged that on September 24, in Georgetown, Blair, 23, of Lot 14 1st Avenue, Bartica, conspiring with others, used a cutlass to rob Dwane Vieira of an $140,000 iPhone.
Vieira was at Barr Street, Kitty, when Blair is alleged to have walked up to him with a cutlass and placed it to his throat, demanding the phone. He subsequently escaped on a bicycle.
Prosecutor Kerry Bostwick further explained that Vieira then made a report to the police station and Blair was later identified in a line up.
Bostwick had no objections to bail and Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry adjourned the case to October 15 for statements in Court One.
