(EUR) TMZ is reporting that it’s officially over between Chris Brown and his girlfriend Karrueche Tran.
According to the website, Brown himself broke the news today, announcing: “I have decided to be single to focus on my career. I love Karrueche very much but I don’t want to see her hurt over my friendship with Rihanna.”
He adds, “I’d rather be single allowing us to both be happy in our lives.”
Earlier this week, they were spotted kissing and making out at a club in Manhattan.
The breakup comes in the wake of Brown and Rihanna attending Jay-Z’s concert in Brooklyn together on Wednesday
There, Breezy could be seen putting his arm around the back of Ri-Ri’s seat as they reportedly sat behind Beyoncé and Rita Ora. Other concertgoers have verified the sighting as well, via various social media outlets.
Earlier in the evening, the duo were also snapped making separate exits from Manhattan’s Gansevoort Hotel in seemingly the same outfits they were wearing at the Jay-Z show, with Rihanna stepping out moments after Brown, reports E! Online.
Meanwhile, Karrueche posted a terse, cryptic tweet on Wednesday night, simply writing: “Bye baby.”
Brown remains on probation for his 2009 beating of Rihanna.
Last week, a judge refused to revoke the R&B star’s probation after he tested positive for marijuana.
